I am working with an IP 403 1.4 with IMS. After recently spending a day and a half with Avaya Tier 4, IMS finally is working however, the customer has 10 new computers (all Win2K) with Outlook 2003.

IMS works on these machines, but it sends the voicemail twice to the email account..any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Have you put the users email address in the Voice mail tab in the on the user, in IPO Manager. If you are using IMS you don't need to do this because the IMS-Manger looks after it.

Unfortunately, no. There is nothing entered in the IPO Manger about Voicemail to email or anywhere eles in IPO.

I will keep on looking and testing theories, if you have any ideas, I appreciate it.

That’s my best sorry

The only other thing is if it is caused by OL2003, why not roll back to an earlier version of OL on the IMS/VM server.

I have myself failed to install the IMS server on a PC with OL2003.
It did only work with OL2000 as the job aid suggests.
It does now forwards the emails correctly to the users but the problem is that they are not in sync.
Theoretically I have understood that it should delete the voicemail once I delete it from Outlook but it doesn't.
This is true on OL2000,OLXP,OL2003. No syncing of the email and the voicemail.

OK guys...

After playing around quite a lot I configured a PC with Outlook XP and IMS Client.
I upgraded it to Outlook 2003 and it works like a charm!

If I try to install IMS Client on a fresh install of Outlook 2003 it will display my message correctly in Outlook but it will not give me the option to playit back to the handset or synch my account when I delete it.
This is because in Tools->Options I don't get the IMS configuration tab to set up my options.

On the other hand in an upgraded Outlook XP -> Outlook 2003 it works great and I get the configuration tab!

OK.. To install on a fresh Outlook 2003 that you don't get the Integrated Messaging tab:

Go to Help->About Microsoft Outlook

Click on disabled items.
Mark IMS Client and click enable.
Restart Outlook 2003.

Voila!

IMS Client in Outlook 2003!
