Is anyone familiar with using the USB port on an IP 403 ?

I have seen a pdf manual indicating the USB port can be used like a USB modem. I can no longer find the English copy of the pdf but the link to the french one is:

When I plug in my USB port there is no action - Windows XP/2000 do not respond indicating a new device...

Ta.

There were USB drivers for the IP Office but they didn't go beyond the trial stage. Whilst you could connect a PC via the USB and then run IP Office apps, there was really no reason when it could all be done just as easy via the LAN ports.

So the software wasn't developed any further. The USB port has disappeared from other IP Office boxes.

The reason the USB port would be good to use is it would enable us to use it for dial-up support. We have a Workshop PC close to the IP403 - it would be easier to have multiple dial-out accounts on that PC to connect to client IPO's; rather than open manager, change the phone number, change the username, change the password, change the IP address, and re-boot the IP403...etc.

We use an alchemy for remote connection to our remote sites, just add a new service, & Ip Route for each site.
as long as all your sites use different IP Addresses once in place it should not need changing.

alternativly you can always use the DTE port & treat the IPO like an ISDN terminal adapter
