Man does this new way suck!!! Great job avaya. Anyhow here is my problem. Customer ran out of the 30 day trial softphone worked great. License ran out no more phone. Aquired the new license as node locked. Entered what I thought was the proper mac address. According to the HWIDtool. Uploaded the file to which is in .cfg to the ip telephony under resources. File uploads to the BCM 450 version 6 just fine. Set the softphone to HTTP enter the address of the phone system in the url section. Click ok. Does not connect. What am I missing? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. I am pulling my hair over this.

I am using version 2 i2050 and it's awesome! I am using on both my BCM and the new Emetrotel UCx system I am testing.

I actually use it for remote paging on a remote site....

OHHHHHH good for you Gordon. Nice helpful post smartass

LKev,

What's the problem?

I do like the i2050 phone, why am I a smartass?

I needed to use it for a remote site for paging.....
-I took a laptop to the warehouse 50 miles away and installed the i2050 on it
-ran a cable from the output of the laptop to the sound system
-I put the i2050 in the same BCM50 (Feature 631) page zone as my home office
-When I page 50 miles away at my home office, I also page the warehouse.

I also tried it out with the UCx 50 I am testing and it works well as well.

I don't see a problem here? In fact, I think the i2050 is a great way for people who don't want to spend a ton of money on a SIP paging system to utilize paging....

Can't you get your hands on an older i2050 version 2 so you don't have to worry about the licenses? Avaya really sucks when it come to licensing....I am in the same boat as you, that's why I am switching to the UCx 50 most likely.....

Basically we are telling you that if you switch to the version 2, you won't ever have to worry about licensing issues. I don't know how to use the future versions.....
