I've got an IP 2004 phone connected to a BCM50 3.0 and can't get the SHIFT button to work?? When I press it, it goes straight to F980.

Can't get the MSG/INBOX button to work either. Isn't the MSG/INBOX button to check voicemail? It acts like it's blank.

Grateful for any replies.

I currently have a I2004 phone connected to a BCM 450 at release 6.0.

On the phone, I have the two buttons at the bottom that refer to applications.

The third button from right has a tray with an arrow pointing to the right and this button when pressed asks for a mailbox number. The other button to the left with the arrow pointing downwards to the right is asking me for "Log:" which is a mailbox number and a password.

Other buttons at the bottom are as follows.

I have a button to the left of the "Log:" button that looks like an opened book that is to locate an extension via the directory.

The button second from right which has a globe and two arrows pointing left and right allows you to change or access functions for that phone. The button on the far right that has a computer screen doesn't do anything on the BCM system.

I have been looking over the phone and I don't seem to be able to locate a "Shift" key. I didn't think that the I2004 had one.

The Shift key is also the Outbox key (F980 Send message)
It is on the bottom row with arrow pointing top/right.
This would also be on the right side of 1100 series sets.

I think it acts as a shift on the M1/Option/Succession to see more features or lines on the display but is only F980 on the BCM?

Thanks FirebirdScrambler and curlycord.

This IP 2004 phone has six buttons across the bottom. The middle two are Msg/Inbox and Shift/Outbox.

I found more information that confirms curlycord's comment about the Shift function only working on Meridian 1, not BCM.

What about the Msg/Inbox button? Does it only work on Meridian 1 systems like the Shift button?

Thanks again curlycord.

I had loaded the OPEN MBOX feature on one of the upper soft keys which erased the feature off the Msg/Inbox button on the bottom row.

The Msg/Inbox button works as it should after I reloaded it with F981.
