I have had a problem with the 2002 type phone forever. At times, until the phone completely loses it's mind, the phone will not recoginize an off hook. The user will need to press the line key to answer or make a call. Than at other times, when answered, the phone will go directly to hansfree mode and can't be released to the handset mode until the call is terminated. I have various IP phone models and this only happens with the 2002. My vendor has no idea how to fix. Whenever I can, I change out a 2002. Unfortunately, I do not have the ($$) to change out my 160 2002 phones. Any help, suggestions, will be greatly appreciated. Any possible patches or firmware upgrades? I am currently on 7.0 looking to move to 7.5 or most current upgrade in next quarter.

Thanks,
CWK

You will not like to here this, but it is a known problem with the i2002's and i2004's that the hookswitches on these phones fail. We have customers that as they fail are switching to a 1120 or other type that are more reliable. It is a hardware problem and not a firmware problem.

You just confirmed what I pretty uch alraedy knew. Just figured I make a last try. Not much I can do as these have been in service for some time. Thats what i do now, replace them anytime I can. Thanks for your help.
