IP 1230 Add on display

Does the 1230's addon display ( Expansion Module IP Phone 1200 Series - 12 Key w/LCD (NTYS22AA70E6) ) require anything special or do I just plug it into the handset like I would a KIM unit on a T7316e set? Are the buttons programmed the same way?

My memory tells me that you just plug it in like the KIM.
