IOS error message

Hi not sure if this is a virus or not when I start up I get the following message.

When starting IOS
Windows security error
You must restart you machine

Tried everything I can think off. This seems to be effecting my main drive and as a last resort I am going to replace but thought I'd see if anyone knows much about this.

IOS - should be, to my knowledge, the Input Output Service (or System)... you may try to do a Repair Install of XP, that is if you are using this OS, which basically replaces your Main System Files and resets your Registry...

once up and running, do a Virii Scan, Scan for Malware (AdAware and SpyBot S&D, etc.), run a HD Scan for errors, etc. just to be on the safe side...
