I am using Procomm to connect to a CS1000E at 7.6 via dialup modem.
After connecting, the TTY port I am using gets disabled and then a few minutes later I get an IOD319 which says my TTY is now enabled.
My screen looks like this:

Procomm Plus Ready!
æææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææææ ┼

IOD319 03

So it is obviously sending those characters above which is what is causing the TTY port to become disabled and after 4 minutes it is enabled.

My question is where / how are these characters being sent and how do I stop them?

Thanks.

I am using 8-N-1 and no as it is a new connection.

I always set mine up as a WYSE 50. I can still remember the old orange screen WYSE terminal. I kept that thing on a shelf forever before i finally junked it.

I am using TTY but I will try the WYSE50 and see what happens.

My guess is it's your modem set up not your Procomm settings

Make sure you are using a good external (hardware modem) soft modems or (win modems) are crap and give all kinds of errors with CS1000. I only tried one once. Never again. Went back to US robotics 33.6 but also have a US robotics 56k. Both have been working great for 10 years maybe.

Terminal type of WYSE50 seems to work better.
Thanks everyone!
