hi, i need help on this:
i need to invoke/activate the java console plugin, but unfortunately i cannot find the icon in my control panel. probably the previous user had deleted it.

is it possible to invoke/activate the java console manually through other means eg command prompt? if so, how?

any kind soul, pls advise
thanks

If you talk about IE java console, you can activate it in the "advanced" tab of the "internet properties" window of ie (menu tools>internet option)
NOTE : The terms should not be exactlly these 'cause my IE is french version. Water is not bad as long as it stays out human body ;-)

targol, i managed to find what you were referring to, and i also restarted my pc, and i managed to find a cup-like icon that read "java plugin control panel" but then when i double-click that icon or run ie, nothing happens; it is as though nothing was activated except IE.

btw, the "java plugin control panel" i am talking about is a shortcut found NOT in control panel, and its 'target' is

"C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin\javaw.exe" -D"javaplugin.nodotversion"="12" -D"javaplugin.version"="1.2" -cp "%CLASSPATH%;..\lib\jaws.jar" sun.plugin.panel.ControlPanel

any more advice you can offer?
