Any information on the following would be appreciated.

Am using Acrobat 7 standard. I am producing PDF files from Word documents programmatically with a VBA Word macro for customers. I would like to put a code (unique to each customer) in the PDF files that would be invisible and could not be gotten at by most users (I know a determined expert could probably do anything). Of course, I would need to be able to reveal the code to myself somehow. I would like to use it as a tracking device, wherein if I saw one of my PDFs somewhere where it shouldn't be, I could get the file, reveal the code to myself and determine which customer this file originally was given to. The ability to do this programmatically and/or via a batch process is necessary. Is something like this doable?

Thank You

Adding what you want is pretty easy in Acrobat pro - not sure about standard - but the batching I don't know about due to each needing a different identifier.

If you're using word and you could script that, perhaps you could put some text somewhere, in white so it would be invisible. You could open a suspect pdf and use the text select tool to grab the whate text.

Whatevre you do, you'd have to set document security to allow no changes.
