Investigating Progress

Hello all. I am looking to purchase an application that was developed on progress Open Edge. I'd like to know the pros and cons of this environment. Could someone point me in the right direction?

we use progress here but not on open edge. progress is quite a strong rdbms (imho) and the 4gl language is easy to learn. you can check out
