Hello People!
Here is my question:
Is it possible to do a "batch ChangeID" on items in the PeachTree?

So far this has not been a problem -- if we are talking/changing 1 itemID at the time...due to a typo or something.
We (= my boos :))are now trying to change the whole "key" ItemID thourghout the DataBase.
eg.
current ItemID format:
XYZ-1001
desired:
abc1001-B

Thank you people for all of your time and input!

You could only accomplish this by:
1. setting up a new company (based on your old company)
2. export your list information from the old company
3. edit the inventory items and change the id's in the item.csv file
4. import the list information into the new company
5. enter beginning balances for your chart of accounts, vendors, customers, employees and inventory items
You could not export journal information and then import it into the new company because of the id changes.

nice....thank you
sounds like a tricky busniess that will take time....
\BUT thanx for the great info!

HI crystalpro!
I know this is an old post...but:
"3. edit the inventory items and change the id's in the item.csv file"
---> is there an easier way to do this? I mean I have 1000s of items

Thanx!
