Hi,

A client of mine keeps getting this error "Invalid variant type conversion" when using ODBC for Access or Excel.

I cannot reproduce the error and I know we're both using the same versions of the drivers.

The error is generated by a program made by my company that exports results to an ODBC Compliant datasource.

Does anyone know if there is a specific setting that might cause this error?

From which datatype to wich datatype do you export data? John Fill

We're exporting from and internal format (btrieve based) to either the MS ACCESS or Excel ODBC datasource.

Both give the same problem.

I mean from integer to text or other datatypes, you should know. John Fill

I can't see where this could be helpfull, sinse the program works fine on my machine.

In this case the ODBC of your client does not have ODBC drivers fo Access and/or Excel. John Fill

As I said in the first and starting post, they use the same versions as I do, meaning, yes they have the ODBC Drivers for MSACCESS and Excel. They downloaded them from my companies site even. The followed the instruction for installation and now get this error.
So I guess that there must be some kind of setting in eighter a INI file or in the registery that causes this error.
Is there a difference between the versions for the MDB or the XLS that could cause this problem?
