Invalid User ID 3

Hi there

I would like to know if anyone can assist us with this one. From time to time our users are unable to log in to the system. The error message is :

“ Invalid user ID.
The connection user ID specified in the system database profile is not valid”

It is totally random – no pattern at all
The only solution we have found for this is to re-store the Site folder in its entirety. We have tried each table within this folder as well as deleting the semephor.bin table but to no avail. As a result, we are backing up the Site folder 2 or 3 times daily so that we have a current copy.

We are running Accpac ERP500 with all latest service packs. We run on a Terminal Services environment Windows 2008 and SQL 2005. We host Accpac on our servers for +- 20 companies. (500+ users in total)

I've seen it happen several times over the last two years at random times on completely different version 5.5 installs, don't know the answer. Haven't seen it on version 5.6 yet.

Make sure that opportunistic locking is turned off. Make sure anti-virus isn't watching those folders.

It's a random anomaly that crops up on some sites, but not all of them. You can edit the system database in Accpac Database Setup and enter the SQL password again, this fixes it. No need to restore the Site folder - unless you really want to.
