invalid use of null > by installing scheduler

Sounds like Cognos KB article 89067 might be of relevance here:
Error
COGNOSBIINSTMGR60.APPINSTANCE
Invalid use of NULL.
when going to Programs/Scheduler from the start menu. The program does not appear at all.
Solution:
If you reboot and login with administrative privileges, you are able to run the Scheduler program without errors. This is likely due to the server's permissions being locked down to a very secure level. Either ensure that you are logged in as the administrator when launching the application, or have the system administration change the permissions so that they are less restrictive.
