Invalid system disk common with XP and SATA?

I have noticed a trend with XP and SATA drives. Of the problems I have to fix with PC's the most common seems to be "invalid system disk". They systems run fine, the next morning they get that message. If I take the drive out and run chkdsk with it as a slave in another system, I can put it back in the original system and it boots fine, whether or not there were errors found. I have found this to be a cronic problem with a Windows 2000 server, where I have to do this almost weekly.

Has anyone else seen this?
