Invalid System Config (Bios)

I have a gateway LT Solo 9550. I am getting a error from the bios "Invalid System Config data - Run config Utility" I can press f1 and resume or f2 to fix. I resume and all works well. I have reviewed the bios settings and saved them but still get the same error. Any idea what a restore of system defaults will do? I have a bios upgrade I will install tonight any other ideas

Make sure to save your current BIOS before updating, then do the update. If you still have problems after updating BIOS, turn off the computer, pull the power, and pop the battery out. Give it about 10-15 seconds to be sure everything clears, then put it all back together and try again.

check the cmos battery, replace if below 3v.
