Hi All,

I personatly like Foxpro, I use it for a years and years from the version 1.02 (d.o.s.)

Recently, I get a strange problem. I have a program (EXE)install form, mabe 6month and working perfectly. Visual FoxPro 6.0, Then, for no apparent raison, wont run anymore. the error is "Invalid seek offset (Error 1103)".

I replace all data with fresh new database/tables/index that I know is good. And the EXE did not work. same error.
I recompile EXE with original sources, replace it.... same error. Want more? I dont use any SEEK in this application???

The only way I found to fix this error is to recompile the source code directly on the machine. Then it works again??

I can't install VFP with source code on all machine how wanna use this EXE program??

Any idea? I can't find any solution about that on the web... feel free to send me any suggestion.

That error usually happens when files become corrupted or too large.
Rather than just copy the index files, you should recreate them from scratch.
Also, how large are your tables or memo files? Have they exceeded the 2gig limit?

It's look like the problem is in the EXE. not on the tables.

no, it's about 2megs

It is the original version of Foxpro right of the CD and I dint patch it with any servicePack ... mabe this can be a way to explore??

But did you recreate the indexes? Replacing them may not solve the problem. Cluster sizes of hard drives or tape backups can differ. I would not rely on a backup of an index.

It would be a real good idea to install the service packs for VFP 6, if they're still available.
Then make sure to recompile (if you have the source), and also replace the runtime files wherever they are, if you have the .exe in different locations.
