Hello
I got the message "invalid partition table" once i started to boot my PC. Now i assume that there is a problem with the booting sector but i just am not sure if it is a hardware or software issue.
So, i re-installed the OS WINXP and all drivers , seems to be fine now, but i am still not sure.
Can some one help.

Thanks
Kanav

Update your AV program, and check for viruses. Sometimes they can reside in the MBR(master boot record, or partition table).
If none are found, then run the diagnostics at the hard drive manuf's website. If they find any problems, then the HD is probably failing. Back up all critical data ASAP.

Thanks a lot ski. I have my data backed up now, but am still not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. My PC seems to be working fine since i re-installed the Win XP,

You're welcome.
You may want to run the HD diagnostics anyway. That will indicate whether the problem is(was) hardware or software related.

I dont know how to do that, could you please help me do that?

Thanks Ski

Determine the manuf. of your HD(you may have to open the computer to get this info), go to the manuf's website, and run the diagnostics there.
