Invalid Parameter was passed to a service or function.

When booting up my XP sp2 this am. I got the following message: Invalid Parameter was passed to a service or function. Only option was to click on ok. This put it in a restart cycle with the same message occurring.

I restarted in safe mode, Same Invalid Paramenter message appeared.

I then restarted using safe mode and chose the restore to a known safe start and got Message stated password does not match (never had a password on the machine) - does not allow me to click ok (which was the only option) it just continues to restart over and over with the same password message.

Any ideas?
