Hi I have Smartsuite Millennuum ver 9.5 I use Approach and Word Pro. I went on to get into my approach database and got this error. I can not get into the program at all and I am very worried because I really depend on it. I tried to get in to a saved copy and that does not work either. The last thing I did was install Norton Anti virus and now it is messed up. Please help. The error is below.

I believe you will need to uninstall the Norton Antiivirus. You can try just not running it when using Approach - but it is a compatiblity issue for sure.

Also please be aware there is a "patch C" for the SmartSuite 9.5 version of Approach that contains a number of very good fixes. You can find it easily in the Free Downloads area on XpertSS.com.

Have been copying from word pad and paste in Lotus word pro for several days. All of a sudden I get "Word Pro caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel 32.DLL @0167:bff7AL38". Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks, CharFive

Lotus Tech Note #185858

You upgrade from Word Pro 97 to Word Pro Release 9.5 and then have problems opening all your documents. You receive error messages and, in some cases when scrolling through a document, the program crashes. The error messages are:

Reference memory cannot be read.

WORDPRO caused an invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL...

Solution:

This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and was fixed in Word Pro Release 9.6. If you haven't yet upgraded, you can possibly work around this issue by disabling some options in Word Pro Preferences (see below). Then import each damaged document separately and immediately export it as an .MWP file.

Supporting Information:

TO ATTEMPT RECOVERY OF CORRUPT FILES

1. Create a blank .LWP document.

2. From the File menu, choose User Setup, Word Pro Preferences, Enable panel.

3. Deselect "Bubble help," "Consistency Check," "Background Printing," and click OK.

4. From the File menu, choose Import/Export.

5. Select "Import data from another application (or Word Pro file), "Import at the current insertion point," and click Import..

6. Select one of the damaged documents and click Open.

7. Once imported, without saving the document, from the File menu, choose Import/Export again.

8. Select "Export your document into another file format," "Lotus Word Pro" from the drop down list, and click Export.

9. Name and save the file as a .MWP file.

10. Open the .MWP file. If the document is clean, save it as an .LWP file.
