Invalid Page Fault running SFC

When trying to run the System File Checker program on a machine running Win98SE, the following error message is displayed:

"SFC.EXE caused an invalid page fault in module KRNL386.dll..."

Has anyone experienced this error and can offer me some way to fix this situation?

Help somebody... Please!!!!

A search of Google proved fruitless.

run Scandisk right after a cold boot

Why are you using SFC????

Have you changed the Advanced parameters????

try ctrl+alt+del to end tasks except Explorer before running sfc
