Im using a command for a report, im tryin to add a parameter into the command but its bringing up an invalid number error. I have checked the data formats and everythings fine, i cant see why this error is appearing.

the where clase that is causing it is:

and substr(b.contract,1,2)= ('{?compae}')

if any of you guys need to see more of my code give me a shout but the rest of it works fine without this line.

Cheers!

If you are using Oracle Reports, the line should be
and substr(b.contract,1,2)= :compae

oh sorry mate i posted it in the wrong forum, im using crystal. Cheers for your help anyway!
