I have a Informix online server(VERSION 7) installed under SCO Unix. Recently, I install the IDS 9.4 to a linux server for testing purpose. I used dbexport to export the data from the old server and try to use dbimport in the new server to import the file. However, I obtain the error message "Invalid month in date" when the new server try to import those data with date information.

I think the reason is because the old server storing date in MM/DD/YYYY and the new server storing date in DD/MM/YYYY.

How can I slove the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Simon:

The problem isn't the way the date is stored, it's the way the date is stored or read in externally (such as with a dbimport or load command) which is controlled by the DBDATE shell variable.

It looks like the original dbexport was created with:

DBDATE=MDY4/ # the default

On your new server, DBDATE probably looks like this:

DBDATE=DMY4/

Either unset DBDATE or set it back to DBDATE=MDY4/, perform your dbimport. After the completes, setDBDATE back to the value you desire.

Regards,

Ed

Hi Olded,

Thank you very much . After setting the dbdate, I can migrate the data from the old server to the new server now. Thank you very much.
