invalid mailbox on a flash4 ?

I got a Flash4 ( not sure of the software level it is a remote site) It seems to have lost only it's mailboxes, the company greeting is still there all the programming is accessable, but the mailboxes vanished. When I try to rebuild them everytime I put in a mailbox# to create it says invalid mailbox. it will not let me build anything every # I enter is invalid. This ever happen to anyone? Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any imput.

Are you able to acces mailboxes 10 and 12 if so you basically had 10 mailboxes to start with, maybe you are trying to add over the limit or your dn range does not match the phone system.

yeah i can access the gd mailbox and admin there are no other mailboxes in the directory they are 3 digit exts in the 201 and up range, it will let me input any type of digits to create a new mb

A Flash 4 has 48 mailboxes available, so unless you were close to capacity that shouldn't be a problem.

Sounds like a software corruption. Have you tried rebooting the Flash? If that doesn't work, try deleting a known working mailbox. If that works, then try recreating the mailbox. If all that fails you'll need to initialize the Flash, reconfigure and start from scratch.

there are no mailboxes they all disappeared save the general delivery, when i try to build a new whatever number i put in says invalid mailbox

I understand. I was thinking if there is a corruption you could try deleting a previously existing mailbox and see if that works.

they were only using 3 boxes anyway so i assigned the general to the administrators ext so they can at least recieve and retrieve messages and changed thier company greeting to reflect that . i guess that old flash is getting ready to crap the bed, in the meantime it will suit thier needs

Try and create mailboxes in a different range 100 200,400...800.

Did you try to do a Reinstall and just configure the Flash like a new installation?

Hey,Plain and simple, the capacitive dicharge has run its course and will no longer hold a charge. So even if you rebuild your mailboxes that went away when the unit defaulted,the next time there is a power blip it is going to default again!!!
