invalid hard drive password for dell latitude x200

can i change the password with jumper setting?or with a new hard drive? it boots to the dell screan f2/f10/f12

When you say hard drive password, what are you referring to? Have you been able to see what operating system this has? If you hit F2, are you able to get to the BIOS settings (and change them)?

Typically hard drive passwords are manufacturer set.. you would have to call dell and show proof of ownership
