Hi,

Have been trying to restore and am constantly getting "invalid file signature"

Any ideas??

Thanks!

This could be due to several things.
1) bad spot on tape
2) data written incorrectly
3) database corruption

For the first two a verify would have caught this.

Here are a few suggestions:

Try to restore something else from that tape.
If that works then it very well could be # 1.
If that also fails then try restoring something from another tape.
Try to restore the same data from an earlier backup.
Try a restore by media and enter an include filter for the data you want.
If that works then there is database corruption.
Check for updates for your version of ARCserve.

Hi, I HAD the same problem when we reinstalled our backup server, BAB 9.01 was installed with all patches ("session password patch" included). But after reinstalling Windows 2kServer I installed BAB 9.01 WITHOUT "session password patch", when I wanted to restore files that were backuped with this patch I got the same error as you. After applying the patch, everything was OK. So did you try this patch?
