Hello All,

We have a database that is serving several applications. Every thing seems to be functioning well including the database and all the applications using it. However, there is significant invalid objects by both the systems and the application users.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the negative effect of having so many invalid objects. I have tried to explain to the users that the invalid objects are indication of problems in the underlying or base objects of packages. The invalid status is caused by frquent change in the underlying objects. This could make diagnosis of crirical issues very dificult in the future.

Does anyone have supporting comment. ALso, I was wondering whey after compiling some invalid objects some of them still come back as invalid.

Thanks,
TSO

Hi,
Do you allow users to modify the underlying objects?

Any time a base object is changed, a recompile should to be done on any dependent objects.

If the recompile still shows invalid, check the error messages to see what is causing it.
