I have a user that is trying to access his Lotus Notes R5 Archive file. Every time he tries to open it he gets an error message. Invalid B-Tree Structure. He is running Win2000 and has had no prior problems. Any ideas as to what this means and why the problem might have occured and what I can do about it. Lotus themselves have not gotten back to me in a week.

is this archive database stored locally or on a server?

you could also try the following: remove the db icon from the workspace, close out the notes client, remove cache.dsk from the client's data directory and launch notes again then open the database again.

try running l fixup -F dbname.nsf and l compact -c dbname.nsf if it's on a server.

I'll Try that.

The archive is stored locally on his machine.

Ok the file was not on the server. I tried the first suggestion. That did not work. So I copied the file to the server and tried your second suggestion. I got the following in return:

Database is damaged and can't be repaired (UNID Index)

Am I screwed with this person's file?

If there is anything else I can do let me know.
