Intuity Audix map 5/p
Moving locations and the backup tape is not functioning. I go to the backup menu. I enter into backup and it tells me to place a cartridge in or press delete to go back.
I press enter and it just hangs there doing nothing.
Can a backup be made to the CD drive or floppy drive instead of the cartridge?
Is there a work-around?

I would power down the Audix, open the case and check for a loose or disconnected cable, check and reseat the cards also. It is possible the tape drive has failed, but I would check first, also check the tape.
You should see a command structure display on the screen, including >mount backup< when you hit f3 from the backup screen. From "Audix administration" do "display alarms" and see if "Annie" has any outstanding issues, hardware or software, listed there.
And NO! you cannot backup to the floppy (not enough space) and the CD is a read only. This is a UNIX box and it was never designed to function this way.
I am assuming you have not moved, yet, you should be ok if you are careful with the box, don't let the movers handle it, a backup is your "insurance" against failure, but your policy may be expired.
