I have a current W2k domain running AD, DHCP & DNS (no exchange). I want to add a new W2k3 R2 server into the domain and promote it to an AD server and replicate AD from W2k to W2k3. What is the best method to do this?

I have to run adprep and forest prep from the R2 CD on the W2k domain controller. Is there anything else I need to do to prep the domain for the new W2k3 AD sErver?

Nope.

You should download the support tools for windows 2000 and run a health check to make sure your current domain is fully functional... Find them here:

At very minimal, run dcdiag and netdiag. check for warnings or failures.
