Trying to read up on errors but my head is swimming.

I am getting the following errors:

Frequently:
ALL TTRs UNAVAILABLE

Occasionally:
POOL BUSY
POOL BUSY &/OR OOS
INVALID SLOT INTERRUPT
TIMEOUT COLD START
COMMAND BUFFER FULL
NO I-VMS PORT IN SERV

Are any of these a BIG problem should I be worried?

All TTRs unavailable means that all Touch Tone Receivers are temporarily tied up. What that means in reality is that, during said time, calls to the Automated Attendant where the caller dials an extension will INSTEAD get the Operator. If you have PRI for inbound calls, they may also be either directed to the Operator or potentially mis-directed to another extension. A Touch Tone Receiver is responsible for decoding DTMF and "converting" it back into digits--if you will.

Pool busy usually means that all in/outbound lines are in use. Outside callers receive busy and insiders attempting to make outside calls get a Reorder Tone.

Invalid Slot Interrupt may or may not be important...it depends on which slot is being affected and how often.

Timeout Cold Start is probably just an artifact of you or someone else rebooting the system. Same goes with Command Buffer Full.

No I-VMS Port In Serv refers to Voicemail not yet being ready to accept calls. This too (especially with the 007MLM) is frequently seen after a cold boot.

Thank you sooooo much. I was in a panic. You've narrowed my concern to only the TTR's as the others are relatively infrequent.

So if I am getting a lot of TTR unavailable errors I either do not have enough of them or some are not working.

I have the following cards ( I can't figure out how many TTR's) I have.

Slot 0 - CKE4 Vintage 02
Slot 1 - 408 GS/LS MLX
Slot 2 - 408 GS/LS MLX
Slot 3 - 408 GS/LS MLX
Slot 4 - 008 MLX-U
Slot 5 - 007MLM

Do I have ANY TTR's I been scouring internet and I cant find that I have any. I though 007MLM had them.

The 016 (T/R), 016 ETR, 400 GS/LS, and 412 LS-ID-TDL modules each provide four touch-tone receivers (TTRs). The 008 OPT, 012 T/R, 800 DID, 800 GS/LS-ID and MERLIN Messaging System modules each provide two TTRs. The 0X24 TDL module provides eight touch-tone recivers.

To test TTRs, follow these steps:

1. Pick up the handset of a touch-tone single-line telephone that is connected to one of the modules that provide TTRs (a single line port and telephone is REQUIRED...otherwise we gotta do something different).

2. Dial *04 and the 2-digit number (starting with 01) of the TTR that you want to test. You should hear a busy tone if the receiver is in use. You will hear a reorder tone if you misdialed or addressed a receiver that is not in your system. (This can happen if, for example, you dialed 07 and your system has only one 016 (T/R) module and one 800 GS/LS-ID module, for a total of six TTRs.)

3. If you hear reorder tone, try again. If you hear dial tone after one to three seconds of silence, proceed with this test.

4. Dial 123456789*0#. You should hear a dual-tone multifrequency (DTMF) signal as each button is pressed. When you finish dialing, you should hear a 3-beep confirmation tone. IF YOU FAIL TO HEAR THE CONFIRMATION TONE IN HALF OR MORE ATTEMPTS, THE TTR IS MARGINAL AND SHOULD BE BUSIED OUT.

5. Repeat the test for each TTR.

Oh sorry...let me be more direct. I didn't mean for you to have to parse my diatribe. If I'm not mistaken the 007MLM has either two or four TTRs (and I think the answer is two).

It's not unusual to see TTRs fail on those things as they're really getting up there in years.

You could add an expansion cabinet and throw in a 400GS/LS and that would hook you up. Another option would be to yank the 408 and 008, then replace them with a 400GS/LS and an 016MLX. That would give you the same line count, same station could but would bump up your TTR count. That plus you wouldn't have to renumber anything in your voicemail group as the LID and station count remain the same for slot #5.
