intranet web page search engine

I'm looking for a freeware search engine for an intranet

what I'm wanting to do is:

have a page...preferably where i can input a subject/name for the page...and then the text

and then have a second page with a search box

everything i've found has been where you have to add it to a live online site....

it's for a tech docs search page so it can be searched when i'm not there..they will have an idea on what to do


anybody got any suggestions on where to get one or how to write one??

Try looking on this site. All sorts of free scripts and a couple of search scripts that work off an index of your site. There should be no reason for these not to work on an intranet.
