Intranet search

Hi all,

I have a simple question regarding Intranet searches.

I have several hundred word documents that I want to put on a company intranet under one heading (CI Reports).

I need to be able to add these documents to the intranet and search just the section of the intranet that contains these documents (there will be a separate section on the intranet for these documents for people to go and search them), I will need to search the title and the body. Does anyone know of the best method of achieving this?

Should I use a database to store the information then search the database, whilst displaying the results on the web browser?

If I will have to use a database can I use MS Access 2003.

The forum for whatever server side code you use would be a good starting place.

At risk of perpetuating a thread in the wrong forum, the easiest way of adding search capabilities to a site is to use a service such as

http://www.freefind.com.

I use this on my own site, and am very happy with it.

The service is free if you don't mind ads on the result page, otherwise it costs just a nominal annual subscription.
