We have our homepage go right to an intranet site. Sometimes when the name of the intranet the page cannot be displayed. When we go in and manually type in the ip address it comes up everytime. Why is this doing this? I think there is something wrong with our DNS. There have been other things like not being able to see the network in my network places. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have DNS issues. I would investigate these first.

I recently set up an intranet on a 2003 server using IIS and once you have verified that the intranet works as anticipated, pit an A record in your DNS server for Intranet = 192.168.0.x or what ever your ip address of the server is.
