I can design web pages and publish them to a hosting company.
My next step would be to host my own website on my own computer/server. The purpose is to give everyone in the company access to company documents and to give clients access to our public documents.
I have Windows 2000 with IIS available, but do not know how to set up the intranet and internet.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

I would suggest you seperate the intranet and internet sites. Given this is something you are just exploring, leave the client-facing solution with the hosting ISP until you have mastered hosting your own sites.

When/if you do move to hosting both on the same machine, you will look into having 2 network devices connected to the server. One "listens" on the internal network, and serves the intranet website to whoever connects. The other "listens" on the internet and serves the client-facing pages to whomever connects.

Of course, there are many ways to set this up... and the IIS forum is probably the best place to start... but hopefully the comments above will give you a quick overview of what is required, so you can do research in search engines as well.

All the best,
Jeff
