How many /24 networks can you get from a /22 mask? Does this sound correct, and if so, how would this be worked out on paper?

What are you doing here? whats the ip addresses?

/22 means there are 2 bits to play with to make a /24 network. So you can get 4 /24's from a /22 network.
This is like subnetting say 10.1.1.1/22 to as many /24's you can. I hope that helps.

The difference between a /22 & a /24 is 2 bits in the network field right? The magic equation is 2^n where n is the number of bits. So 2^2=4. Now the trick is that there are 2 normal subnets, 1 broadcast subnet & 1 zero subnet. By default Cisco treats the broadcast subnet like any other but in order to use the zero subnet a special command needs to be used 'ip subnet-zero' before it's legal.
