Hi
I have been asked several times the following questions.
Since i am new to datawarehousing( ETL in Particular)and i am a recent graduate, i havent been able to come up with a satisfactory answer in all the interviews i have attended.I hate to admit , i faked one year's experience.Had i not done that i would never have gotten an interview call besides there arent any fresh grad jobs nowadays. Therefore your answers on these appreciated.

1.How does one do incremnental loading
2.Scenario - You are trying to load reasonable amount of rows into the target table, and its taking a helluva lot of time. What could be the reasons?

I hate to answer these tw0 , gives me nightmares to even think of it!!!

3.Tell me any complex situation you have faced( as an Informatica Developer) and how did you resolve it.

4.tell me any complex mapping that you have done.

All the experienced people out there , please please, reply to these questions.

Regards,
DataWarehousing Aspirant

I may be of the mark here, but how come you are becoming so unsettled with 2 questions you know the interviewer is going to ask you? Did you consider digging into these issues at all?

Remember that the ETL process itself merely serves to feed a datawarehouse. It is of much greater importance to be able to set up the correct structure of the DWH. Creating the proper mappings is something easily picked up.

Besides, making up experience will get you nowhere. You have to accept a job that suits you, so if you are inexperienced find an employer that will let you develop yourselve. If you fake during the interview, you may get the job and lose it again when the experience you faked is nowhere in sight...............
