This is hard for me to explain:

If you just type in an address minus the "

http://"

and the "

http://www."

into a web browser, most sites will automatically come up... i.e. if you just type in "americanexpress.com" and not "

http://www.americanexpress.com",

it will still link you to "

http://www.americanexpress.com"

How do I get my site to do this? If I just type the address without the "

http://www",

nothing comes up. If I type the "

http://www"

along with the rest of the address but not the "

http://",

it comes up. I want it to come up without the "

http://"

AND without the "

http://www"

I'm not even sure if I'm in the right forum, but please, any help would be appreciated.

this is a DNS and web server issue no doubt..

what u have to do is configure the DNS server authoritative for your domain to point your domain name to an IP address, which is the IP address of your web server..... u would then setup a CNAME record in your DNS server to point the

http://www version

of your domain name to your domain name's A record.. below is an illustration:

abc.com IN A 1.2.3.4

http://www.abc.com

IN A abc.com

i think this is self explanatory...

after this, setup your web server to reply to requests that come in with the HTTP header reading both abc.com and

http://www.abc.com
