Internet works on XP networked workstations, but not on the win2000 Se

Let me give more info on the confg of this network from what I have been told..the IP address is hard coded on the router, as well as each workstation, (the last three digits being different) I had her change the dupex on the workstaions, because it was so slow, should It also be chanded on the server? it is set to auto. now the systems move very fast but the internet still drags..any suggestions would be of great help.
