Internet VPN Troubles

Currently have a internet vpn branch office tunnel between a location here in the US (Nortel Contivity 1010) and Ireland (SonicWall). Currently each day around 8am EST the connection drops.

Is it possible that the traffic that comes online each morning at that time here in the States could cause the connection to fail and reset itself? I find it hard to believe that this is a settings issue, but wanted to pose the question to the group. Shortly after this time period the connection maintains for the remainder of the day.
