Is there a tool out there (preferrably free) that will monitor the health of our network bandwidth? The network is simply made up of a PIX firewall, 7200 router, and about 8 catalyst switches.

I'd like to have something that could show realtime bottlenecks, the offender(s), and pull reports. Hopefully there's something that can monitor both WAN and LAN.

TIA!

Have you tried the Windows XP command pathping?
Open a Command Prompt and enter pathping /? to see all the options.

Point your Internet Explorer to and search for traceroute (top right).
Scroll through the results and see if you can find a nice freeware tool.
