Can anybody tell me what has gone wrong and what I can do to solve this problem?

I currently have win 2000, pro, and Im set up on a cable modem. About 2-3 months ago, I started to notice that when I go into my Yahoo account it is incredible slow to scroll down my messages, the same sort of thing happens when I am not on the web but exploring my cpu for virus's or rogue programs.

I am also recieving an inordinate amount of pop ups to porn sites.

I am thinking that I got some sort of dialer or tracker on my cpu, but i cant seem to find it. I have run, history kill, and another traker "killer" but i am having the same problems.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

SBNak - if you've got porn popups, you've definately been 'jacked - take a look at faq608-3482 for some tools to scan your system for these rogues. Spybot: Search & Destroy gets my vote for best of the bunch.

<marc> i wonder what will happen if i press this...[pc][ul][li]please give feedback on what works / what doesn't[/li][li]need some help? how to get a better answer: faq581-3339[/li][/ul]

It may be a good idea to also check your list of installed programs. If you find anything that looks suspicious try uninstalling it. BTW, Spybot gets my vote too. Just make sure you update the list of spyware.
