Internet Shortcuts...

when i click on a mailto: shortcut (like someones name to send email while veiewing webpage) i get an error saying "cannot send mail, no mail program is set up to send mail using internet shortcuts" it use to work I don't know what happen and I have looked everywhere I can think of to fix it. Anyone got any ideas???<br>

This is directly dependent on the e-mail system you are using. Most register themselves as the prefered mailer and add entries to your file associations. Depending on the e-mail client software, reinstalling the mail client typically works. Some email packages - GroupWise for one - don't support this directly.
 
You should also try opening a program like netscape messenger. Just opening most e-mail programs will ask you if you want to register their program as the default program. Only programs like Netscape messenger and MS Outlook usually handle internet mailto: shortcuts.
 
Assuming you use IE4/5 then go into options and choose Programs and check that the email box is filled in.
