Hi all,
I have a website that I copied one of my index.htm pages to use on a different site. I forgot to change the meta description tag. I changed it after a couple weeks and now when I go to google search it - it still displays the old description. How can I get this to fix.

I have this tag in the document:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">

Isn't this supposed to refresh the content?

Thanks,
hailey

It may take Google a while to reload it.
When you update information on your site it does not automatically update instantly in Google's index. Rather, Google's index is updated approximately once a month after our robots have crawled more than 8 billion web pages.

not always. It will only be changed in the SE index once the crawler has revisted the page.

Check the date on Googles cached page and the date when the crawlers last visited in your server logs.
