I am using XP Home Edition and IE 6. When I connected to the internet, I used to have 2 monitors in the system tray, the screens would light up showing incoming and outgoing data. The monitors are no longer there when connected. I would appreciate advice as how to restore the monitors.

Go to My Network Places --> view Network Connections --> right click the appropriate connection icon --> put a tick into the checkbox "Show icon in notification area when connected".

Try double-clicking My Computer > Double click dial-up networking > select your connection > the click the Connecttions drop menu from the menu bar > Settings > choose "Show icon in taskbar after being connected" ... you may have to restart
(This works in 98, shoud be similar in XP)
