Internet Mail Queues Revisited

Is it spam or is it email that is sent to your domain, being accepted, then the Exchange Server tries to send a response to let that emailer know that this email does not exist on your server / domain with the originator as <>

That was the problem that I was having with old employees emails.

What I did was to set my mailbox to get all notifications of email failures, then I went through them and saw that indeeed email was still coming to old employees and when I checked the log in Exchange under ExchSrvr\imcdata\log I could see that the server was trying to send the response back as originator <>

So I keep the notifications on, and block all the email to old employees through the firewall. You can also do this in Exchange. There is a thread that was posted recently about how to do this.
