I have XP Pro. I only have dial up. Lately my internet freezes up and the only way that I can get back to using the computer is to turn it off manually. I have ATT for a provider. It does say when I reboot that get file version could not be located in my dynamic library. Hbinst.exe is part of this. Can you help????

Start, Run, sfc /Scannow

You will need your XP install CD.

The complaint is that your hard disk drive has serious issues.

My Computer, right-click the disk drive, and under Tools run the disk tests that are available.
