Hi, Im using IE ver 6.0 on an XP.
Upon opening a few windows of IE, a number of the windows cannot be closed. I have used File>Close and the X button at the top right.

Repair IE in XP-try it first.
Also, run the steps mentioned in the malware faq I reference below, this could be malware related.

What kind of sites are being accessed? There are sites which try to keep you connected. Did you try right clicking the session button on the task bar? It has a close option which is a bit more powerful.

It is possible the Windows have stopped responding. Check Task Manager and kill them from there.
