Hi there, I have a custmer machine that was quite happily running IE6 SP1, and upon opening internet explorer it would automatically launch the dialer and connect to the broadband connection.

For some unknown reason this is no longer happening. Instead it launches IE, but refuses to autodial, even if a website is manually entered or clicked off the favourites list.

I have tried reinstalling IE6, and have upgraded him to IE7Beta2, but nothing makes a difference. What makes it more complex is that outlook expres WILL autodial and launch the connection. I have checked the autodial setting in the registry which is set to 0x00000001 and I have checked within the IE tools.

Could somebody out there shed some light on this problem. I will attach a HiJackThis! log to this mail as well.

this sounds like the problem, which should have been fixed since you have tried IE7 and the latest IE6 patches.

have you tried choosing "dial only when a connection is not present"?
